La Belle Epogue

Many years ago life seemed so hopeful, what is it about the past that we long for? Is it because it's unattainable? Or was it really the romance novel we tell ourselves it was. Did Parisian know they were living in La Belle Époque where there was plenty and peace but they did not see it that way, trying to escape our present to a "golden age" where life was a lot better some other time? I made a choice to leave Paris once, and I regretted it, a brilliant author once wrote " we all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in the past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles and you are here NOW with the power to shape and your future." I miss Paris and the old times but what I have now is going forward and I will look back with sweet memories and a place that I can go to when I need peace and comfort knowing that I will not only bee in Paris again but that the best is yet to come.
